Frequiently Asked Questions
Your Questions , Answers
Not necessarily. It depends on the condition of your jaw, not the number of implants, because All-On-4 and All-On-6 are two different techniques. The first one uses 4 implants for the entire arch of teeth, and All-On-6 uses 6 dental implants. The higher quantity means that the platform receives a bigger load and the pressure is distributed more evenly. It is enough for the lower jaw since chewing requires more effort, and some patients have a denser jaw.
The All-On-4 procedure was created with an innovative solution to place two implants at an angle so that a smaller amount of bone tissue is necessary for healing, and the upper jaw is safe from the load. Usually, 4 strategically placed implants are sufficient to distribute the load. So, for most people,
All-On-6 is not better, and the main reason for choosing 6 implants is individual bone density. This technique is not always better than the previous one, and your dentist should examine your jaw to recommend a suitable option. It does not mean that All-On-6 is inappropriate, but the higher price is not always justified.
The cost depends on several factors including the number of implants, the brand of implants, bone grafting if needed, and the type of denture, bridge, or prosthesis (acrylic, hybrid, zirconia) on top of the implants.
Since every patient’s case is unique, we cannot give you an estimate without seeing your x-rays or scans. What we can say is that All-on-6 is typically a bit more expensive than All-on-4 as it requires 2 additional implants.
We recommend you come in for a consultation, where we will discuss your treatment plan and provide you with a detailed written estimate which would not hide any costs.
The most common cause is improper oral hygiene, which leads to inflammation of the gums around the implant. This condition is known as peri-implantitis. Bacterial plaque accumulated on the implant not properly cared for will lead to a gradual resorption of the bone tissue around the implant, resulting in loosening of the implant. Smoking, untreated diabetes, grinding teeth at night without a night guard, and improperly placed implants with inadequate bone tissue are additional factors that can contribute to implant failure. That is why we always ask our patients to return for regular cleaning and monitoring to extend the useful life of their implants.
Since there are a number factors such as bone quality, cost, supported teeth, force of bite, and personal preference, there is no absolute answer.
If you fall under this scenario, look into All-on-4. This solution is relatively cheaper compared to All-on-6. However, if you have a lower jaw that may benefit from an additional two implants, or if you want to have your peace of mind knowing you have another two implants in your lower jaw, then go for All-on-6.
The only way to know for certain is to come in for a check-up and see one of our technicians to get an x-ray. We will help you decide your best option based on our experience.
A few honest reasons our patients choose us:
- We check your case properly before suggesting All-on-4 or All-on-6. We do not push the costlier option without reason.
- Our team has hands-on experience with full mouth implant cases.
- We explain the entire process and cost upfront, in simple words.
- We use quality implant systems, not unknown or untested brands.
- Being local to Gwalior, follow-up visits and check-ups are easy and convenient for you.
- We support you through healing, not just on surgery day.
There's no one answer because of various factors like your jawbone, your missing teeth, your bite force, and your budget.
For most patients who have sufficient bone quality and good oral hygiene, the success rates for single dental implants is over 95% in many long-term case studies.
For All-on-4/6 procedures, done correctly, with adequate patient oral hygiene after the procedure, success rates are also very good and in the same range as for single implants. However, for these cases, it is the combination of the planning, bone support, and patient care after the implants are placed that determines the result, rather than simply the technique.
